Barcelona are prepared to allow forward Roony Bardghji to leave this summer, with Leeds United among a number of Premier League clubs expressing interest, according to TEAMtalk. While Bardghji would prefer a loan move to secure regular playing time, Barcelona are leaning towards a permanent sale as they reshape their squad.
The 20-year-old Swede joined Barcelona from FC Copenhagen last summer but managed only 633 minutes in LaLiga during the club’s title-winning season due to the wealth of attacking options available to Hansi Flick. Despite limited opportunities, Bardghji is considered a highly promising talent in European football, prompting increased attention from several clubs.
Leeds United have maintained a long-standing interest in Bardghji and are actively monitoring his situation. The newly promoted side believe he could add creativity and goalscoring ability to their attack as they prepare for their return to the Premier League. However, they face competition from Aston Villa, Sunderland, Brighton, Brentford, and Everton, all of whom have also made inquiries.
Bardghji emerged as a standout prospect at FC Copenhagen, attracting interest from top clubs before his move to the Nou Camp. Barcelona still hold him in high regard and believe he has the potential to become a key player, but the arrival of Anthony Gordon, coupled with ongoing pursuits of Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva, and the desire to retain Marcus Rashford, means opportunities will be scarce.
As a result, Barcelona are willing to consider offers for Bardghji to free up space in the squad. This difference in perspective – a loan preference from the player versus a permanent sale desire from the club – could be decisive in determining his next destination. Leeds’ sustained interest and willingness to meet Barcelona’s terms could give them an advantage in securing the young attacker.
