Scouts from both Premier League clubs were present at Leipzig's 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach this past weekend, with the 27-year-old German international left-back understood to be among the players under observation.
The report indicates that Raum, who was handed the captain's armband at the start of this season, has enhanced his reputation with a series of strong performances. In 32 appearances across all competitions this term, he has contributed three goals and eight assists from his left-sided role, combining defensive solidity with a potent attacking threat. His current contract with the Bundesliga side runs until the summer of 2027.
Raum has previously expressed his admiration for English football, suggesting a move to the Premier League could be a future ambition. "I just focus on my game and my new role at the club. I have a contract beyond this season, so there's no hurry at the moment." He added that while he would be open to discussions if the club initiated them, his primary objectives are Leipzig's season and securing a place in Germany's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
For Liverpool, Raum would represent a potential long-term option at left-back, an area where they have relied heavily on Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas. Manchester United, meanwhile, have seen varying form from Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, who has been injured for an extended period, creating a potential need for reinforcement.
