Liverpool have made offers for both Georgian midfielder Andria Bartishvili and Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, according to reports, as new manager Andoni Iraola begins to reshape the squad following a disappointing 2025/26 season that led to the dismissal of Arne Slot.
The club is aiming for significant signings this summer, with Iraola tasked with mounting a Premier League title challenge next season. While a replacement for Mohamed Salah is a priority, Liverpool are also looking to the future, identifying young talents to develop into future stars. Bartishvili, 17, currently on loan at FC Iberia 1999 from FC Kolkheti-1913 Poti, has attracted interest from Arsenal and Paris FC, with Liverpool submitting an offer despite the player being unable to officially join an English club until March 2027. Geo Team reported that Bartishvili has not yet reached an agreement with Arsenal, with Paris FC attempting to lure him with the promise of immediate first-team football.
Alongside Bartishvili, Liverpool are also heavily interested in 18-year-old Ayyoub Bouaddi, who impressed for Lille in Ligue 1 last season and is currently a key player for Morocco at the 2026 World Cup. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool have held two meetings regarding Bouaddi, with Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal also involved. Romano noted that the price tag and Lille’s willingness to sell will be crucial factors in any potential deal, adding that Liverpool have been closely monitoring Bouaddi for almost a year.
Meanwhile, the future of Cody Gakpo at Anfield remains uncertain. Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in the Dutch winger, and Romano stated that Liverpool are currently undecided on whether to allow Gakpo to leave, awaiting a decision from Iraola. While Tottenham are appreciative of Gakpo, Liverpool have not yet opened negotiations for his exit and are pleased with his recent performances, including at the World Cup.
