Liverpool have registered their interest in signing Bournemouth winger Rayan, as the club begins to identify potential long-term replacements for Mohamed Salah. According to TEAMtalk, the Brazilian international has been extensively discussed by Liverpool officials, including new head coach Andoni Iraola.
The Reds are proactively assessing several attacking options, with Yan Diomande currently considered their primary target. However, Diomande is reportedly favouring a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with ongoing negotiations between PSG and RB Leipzig proving complex. Leipzig are reluctant to sell and would demand a fee approaching the Bundesliga record transfer, currently held by Ousmane Dembele’s move to Barcelona in 2017.
Liverpool are simultaneously exploring alternative options, having previously been linked with players such as Yankuba Minteh of Brighton, Said El Mala of Cologne, Matias Fernandez-Pardo of Lille, and Iliman Ndiaye of Everton. TEAMtalk reports that Rayan has now emerged as a firm target for the Merseyside club.
Liverpool had previously shown interest in Rayan prior to his January transfer from Vasco da Gama, but Bournemouth secured his signature before the Reds could make a formal offer. The club’s admiration for the player has persisted, and they have now contacted Bournemouth to gauge his availability. Significantly, Liverpool sought Iraola’s assessment of Rayan, with the Spaniard having worked closely with the winger during his early months in England.
Iraola is said to be a strong admirer of Rayan and believes he possesses a very high ceiling. However, Liverpool face competition from several other European giants, including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, all of whom are monitoring the 19-year-old’s progress. Bournemouth are reportedly unwilling to sell Rayan, having placed a release clause of £130 million in his contract, although this clause does not become active until 2027, giving the club control over his immediate future. Rayan’s impressive form since joining Bournemouth, with five goals and two assists in 13 Premier League starts, has also earned him a place in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
