Liverpool have made a “serious move” for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, according to CaughtOffside, as they seek to bolster their attacking options following a challenging season on the left wing and the departure of Mohamed Salah on a free transfer. The Reds had initially targeted Yan Diomande, but the player has reportedly chosen Paris Saint-Germain. Summerville has emerged as a concrete alternative, though Liverpool face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for the 22-year-old, who may be available for around €47 million due to a release clause in his contract.
Manchester United have withdrawn from the race to sign Gilberto Mora from Tijuana, TEAMtalk reports. The Red Devils had been closely monitoring the 17-year-old Mexican wonderkid for several months, but have deemed the potential financial package required to secure his signature as excessive after Mora recently signed a new contract with his current club. The increased competition for the player also contributed to the decision.
Barcelona have entered the fray to sign Tottenham captain Cristian Romero, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The Argentina international is widely expected to leave Spurs this summer, with Atletico Madrid previously considered the frontrunners for his signature. Barcelona are in the market for a centre-back, having previously pursued Alessandro Bastoni, and Tottenham are believed to be open to selling Romero at the right price.
Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho is available for transfer this summer, confirmed by Ben Jacobs. Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United last summer, but has not established himself in the first team and the club will only consider permanent offers. Several clubs have reportedly expressed interest in the 21-year-old, though no formal approaches have been made to date. Manchester United are “expected” to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni “in the coming days,” according to AS. While Jose Mourinho was previously reported to be keen on retaining Tchouameni, Real Madrid are now believed to be willing to sell to generate funds for other signings. Tchouameni is considered a “dream” target for United’s midfield rebuild.
Further reports indicate Aston Villa and Tottenham are considering a move for PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye (Foot Mercato), while Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams is again a potential option for Manchester United alongside Chelsea’s Andrey Santos (TEAMtalk). Arsenal are set to accelerate their pursuit of Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes following Brazil’s World Cup exit (football.london).
