Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the most active club in the opening hours of the 2026 summer transfer window, completing deals for Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka, according to reports from FootballTransfers.
The most significant of these is the arrival of Tonali from Newcastle United for a reported fee of €108 million. This represents a substantial investment by Tottenham under manager Robertoo De Zerbi, signaling their ambition for the upcoming season. Tonali, a 24-year-old midfielder, established himself as a key player for Newcastle following his move from AC Milan, known for his tackling and passing range.
Chelsea have also been busy, securing the services of Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev and Denner. They are also reportedly in advanced talks with Maxence Lacroix and Pep Chavarria. Manchester City have broken their transfer record to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, and have also moved to sign Jeremy Monga, thwarting a similar move by Arsenal.
In Spain, Barcelona have added Anthony Gordon to their attack, acquiring the Newcastle United forward for €80 million. Real Madrid, managed by Jose Mourinho, have strengthened their squad with the additions of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries, as they prepare to challenge for Champions League success. Bayern Munich have secured Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, while Paris Saint-Germain are pursuing RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, despite interest from Liverpool.
Elsewhere, several other deals have been confirmed across Europe’s top five leagues. These include Tyrique George’s move from Chelsea to Everton for €21 million, Javi Castro joining Cadiz from Racing Santander, and Alessandro Longoni’s free transfer from AC Milan to Paris Saint-Germain. A number of loan deals have also been completed, involving players moving between clubs in Germany and France.
The flurry of activity suggests a busy summer transfer window across Europe, with clubs eager to reshape their squads ahead of the new season. Tottenham’s aggressive approach indicates a clear desire to compete at the highest level, while the moves by Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City demonstrate the continued financial power of the continent’s elite clubs.
