Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Porto winger Oskar Pietuszewski, with Portuguese outlet Record claiming the club is ‘keeping a close eye’ on the 17-year-old. The teenager, described as having a similar playing style to former Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, currently has a release clause of £52 million in his contract.
Pietuszewski joined Porto from Jagiellonia Białystok in January and has quickly established himself as a key player, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 14 Portuguese top-flight appearances. His emergence has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
Liverpool’s interest comes as they assess potential upgrades to their attacking options, particularly on the left flank. While Cody Gakpo has featured prominently on the left, his goal contributions – 15 goals and assists in 49 outings – are noticeably lower than those of Luis Diaz, who now plays for Bayern Munich, where he has recorded 26 goals and 21 assists in 47 games across all competitions.
Porto are aware of the growing interest in Pietuszewski and are planning to offer him a new contract with an increased release clause in an attempt to retain their “crown jewel.” This means Liverpool will need to act swiftly if they wish to pursue a deal for the promising forward.
In a separate development, Liverpool are also considering an €80 million (£69m) bid for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, according to Mundo Deportivo. Kounde, previously linked with Chelsea, has made 186 appearances for Barcelona since joining in 2022, transitioning from centre-back to right-back. The potential acquisition of Kounde would address Liverpool’s ongoing issues at right-back, offering an upgrade on current options like Jeremie Frimpong and providing cover for the injured Conor Bradley.
