Liverpool are reportedly attempting to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, potentially disrupting a deal with Manchester United, while the asking price for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has risen to a staggering £100 million. The news comes as Andoni Iraola settles into his role following his appointment as Arne Slot’s successor at Anfield.
Summerville has emerged as a key target for several clubs after an impressive season with West Ham, despite their relegation to the Championship, where he registered 12 goal contributions. According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool view the Netherlands international as a more attainable option than other targets, despite his primary appearances last season coming on the left wing. West Ham had initially valued Summerville at £50 million, but relegation could see that price fall to between £30-40 million.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with Summerville, but Liverpool are now positioning themselves to potentially hijack the move. Iraola may see Summerville as a viable option to fill the void left by a potential departure of Cody Gakpo, with new signing Víctor Munoz potentially taking up the left wing position.
Separately, Liverpool and Arsenal are facing a significant financial hurdle in their pursuit of Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed for Morocco at the World Cup, earning seven caps and helping his nation reach the quarter-finals. Lille president Olivier Letang is reportedly demanding £100 million for Bouaddi, citing recent high-profile transfers like Elliot Anderson to Manchester City and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur as justification for the inflated price tag.
Letang stated to Eurosport that the price reflects Bouaddi’s potential and unique profile at such a young age. While Liverpool have shown interest, it is considered unlikely they will sanction a transfer fee of that magnitude for a player with limited top-level experience. The club has already secured Jeremy Jacquet and Víctor Munoz this transfer window, and further additions are anticipated as Iraola reshapes the squad.
