Manchester United are planning a significant overhaul of their squad this summer, targeting at least five new signings, and Sunderland’s Noah Sadiki has emerged as a potential target, according to reports. The Red Devils, preparing for Champions League football next season, are backed by INEOS to strengthen in multiple positions.
The club, under director of football Jason Wilcox, are prioritising midfield recruits, with plans to add potentially three new players to that area of the pitch. However, the scope of the rebuild extends beyond midfield, with a left-back and backup striker also identified as priorities, alongside a potential new goalkeeper to support Senne Lammens. While Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest was initially identified as a ‘dream transfer’, his rising price tag – potentially reaching £120m – has prompted United to explore alternatives.
Noah Sadiki, who has impressed in his debut season with Sunderland following a £15m move from Union SG, is now a player of growing interest to United. Sunderland value the 21-year-old at around €60m (£52m), a figure that would represent a significant profit on their initial investment. Sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk that Sadiki is on United’s radar, though Sunderland would ideally prefer to retain their key player.
Sadiki himself has not dismissed the possibility of a move, stating he is focused on his current commitments with Sunderland and the upcoming World Cup with Congo, but remaining open to future opportunities. “I still have two matches to play with Sunderland, then the World Cup, which will be very special for the Congolese people,” Sadiki said. “And as for the rest, we’ll see next season when the time is right.”
United are also tracking Atalanta’s Ederson, who has reportedly given the green light to a potential move, and Sando Tonali of Newcastle, with the club reportedly preparing a substantial offer. The potential arrival of any of these players would signal a clear intent from Manchester United to compete at the highest level both domestically and in Europe next season.
