Manchester United’s new ownership group, INEOS, have identified Aurelien Tchouameni as a “dream” signing, while also making contact with Real Madrid regarding Eduardo Camavinga, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Spanish publication Sport. The pursuit of Tchouameni comes as United seek a long-term replacement for Casemiro, with the club believing a deal could be possible this summer.
Romano reported on his YouTube channel that while United greatly admire Tchouameni, two obstacles remain: Real Madrid’s reluctance to sell and the player’s substantial salary, which may not align with United’s current wage structure. The French international is currently participating in the 2026 World Cup, further complicating potential negotiations. Despite these challenges, INEOS are reportedly keen to bring the defensive midfielder to Old Trafford.
Alongside Tchouameni, United have also enquired about the availability of Camavinga. Sport claims that Liverpool and Chelsea have also contacted Madrid about the France international, whose market value has reportedly decreased by €50 million to €50 million. However, the report suggests Camavinga is currently unwilling to leave the Spanish capital and remains confident in his future at the club.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford’s loan spell at Barcelona has concluded without the Spanish club exercising their £26 million option to buy. According to The i Paper, Tottenham Hotspur, under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, are interested in signing the England international. United are reportedly open to selling Rashford, with potential interest also from Arsenal and Chelsea, though a release clause of £40 million excludes Liverpool and Manchester City from automatic consideration. The situation suggests a potential overhaul of United’s attacking options this summer.
These moves signal an active start to the transfer window for Manchester United, with INEOS clearly demonstrating their intent to reshape the squad and compete at the highest level. The focus on French midfielders indicates a strategic approach to strengthening the team’s central areas.
