Manchester United are internally discussing a potential move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to Fabrizio Romano. This comes after the club has already secured the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans as part of a midfield overhaul, spending a combined £85 million so far.
United have been linked with Aurelien Tchouameni, but are also considering alternatives, including Roma’s Manu Kone, with initial contact made with Kone’s representatives. Romano reports that Camavinga is being considered as a player who fits the profile of a dynamic, physically imposing midfielder the club is seeking.
However, Camavinga himself is reportedly reluctant to leave the Bernabeu and wants to remain an important part of the Real Madrid project next season, making any deal complicated. United would need to convince the player to push for a move. Initial talks with Camavinga’s entourage took place in May, with Liverpool also previously expressing interest.
Camavinga is reportedly available for a fee of around €50 million (£43 million), potentially becoming a casualty of a midfield revamp at Real Madrid following the arrival of Bernardo Silva and continued interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez. While Federico Valverde has also been linked with a departure, manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly willing to give the Uruguayan another opportunity. The pursuit of a third midfielder follows reports from David Ornstein and Laurie Whitwell detailing United’s plans to strengthen the midfield further.
