Manchester United are monitoring the situation of Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, with the player currently locked in contract negotiations with the Toffees. Talks between Everton and Ndiaye, which began earlier this year, have stalled, potentially opening the door for a summer transfer. According to The Athletic, the 26-year-old’s representatives are seeking an exit clause in any new deal, a request Everton are reportedly unwilling to grant.
United are reportedly at the front of the queue for Ndiaye, having expressed interest in the Senegal international as early as February. Everton are expected to demand a ‘protection valuation’ of around £69million should they be forced to sell, particularly given the lack of progress in contract discussions. Ndiaye contributed nine goal contributions for Everton this past season, establishing himself as a key player for David Moyes’ side.
Ndiaye is capable of playing on either wing, adding versatility to his profile, and his availability could become more likely if the contract impasse continues. United are seeking to strengthen their attacking options this summer, particularly on the left wing, as they prepare for a return to Champions League football. While central midfield is considered the priority, adding another winger is also on manager Michael Carrick’s agenda.
However, United’s pursuit of attacking reinforcements may face competition from Arsenal, who have been ‘offered’ AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. Leao has publicly stated his desire to seek a new challenge, and Arsenal are reportedly prioritizing a winger signing this summer, potentially diverting resources away from a move for Ndiaye. The situation remains fluid, and United will likely assess their options as the transfer window progresses.
