Manchester United are preparing an imminent first bid for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, according to reports from TEAMtalk. The Red Devils have stepped up their efforts to sign the England international, with Old Trafford currently considered his most likely destination. Real Madrid have also expressed interest in Scott, making contact with the player, but United are believed to be in the strongest position.
Chelsea, however, have been ruled out of the running for Scott, as per football.london. Despite recent links, the Blues do not currently have the 20-year-old on their list of midfield targets, though they are considering numerous options including Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, a deal which is expected to exceed €100 million.
In a potential surprise move, Al-Hilal striker Darwin Nunez could be set for a return to Liverpool this summer. Journalist Juan Pablo Romero, reporting from the World Cup with the Uruguay national team, claims that Nunez is nearing an agreement to rejoin the Reds after being deregistered from his Saudi Pro League club in February. Contract details are still being finalized, but the deal will not be announced during the World Cup to allow Nunez to focus on international duty.
Further transfer activity sees Arsenal remaining interested in Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza, who will be a free agent after declining a new contract. Mikel Arteta is reportedly a long-time admirer of the right-back, with Newcastle also vying for his signature. Chelsea have also entered the race to sign Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, challenging Arsenal and Liverpool for the Moroccan winger, who could cost around €60 million. Several other clubs are also monitoring potential moves, including AS Roma for Marseille’s Mason Greenwood, and Bayer Leverkusen for Lyon’s Afonso Moreira.
