Manchester United have registered their interest in Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr, according to TEAMtalk. The Red Devils are seeking a versatile attacker capable of playing across the front line and view the Senegal international as a strong candidate.
Sarr enjoyed a breakout season in 2025-26, playing a key role in Crystal Palace’s UEFA Conference League triumph, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with nine goals and earning Player of the Season honors. He also scored nine Premier League goals, bringing his total for the season to 20 across all competitions. These performances have significantly enhanced his reputation and attracted attention from top clubs.
United’s interest in Sarr predates the recent World Cup, but his impressive displays in North America, where he scored four goals and provided one assist for Senegal, have further solidified his position on their shortlist. His ability to play as a central striker, demonstrated during the tournament, is particularly appealing to the club’s new ownership group, INEOS.
While United prioritize strengthening their midfield, they remain committed to adding attacking reinforcements, especially with the potential departure of Joshua Zirkzee and uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford’s future. There is a possibility Rashford could remain at Old Trafford, but the club would prefer to facilitate a permanent move.
Crystal Palace acquired Sarr for less than £15 million in 2024, and given his recent success, they are expected to demand a fee exceeding three times that amount. Sarr still has three years remaining on his current contract, giving Palace a strong negotiating position. Juventus are also reportedly monitoring Sarr’s situation, adding competition for his signature. New Palace manager Pierre Sage is likely to resist any sale, recognizing Sarr’s importance to the team.
Manchester United’s transfer business is being carefully managed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is focused on controlling costs and wages. The club recently missed out on another target, Mateus Fernandes, due to financial constraints.
