Morocco international Neil El Aynaoui has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs following his performances at the World Cup, according to TEAMtalk. Manchester United and Liverpool are among the English sides monitoring the 25-year-old Roma midfielder.
El Aynaoui joined Roma from Lens last summer, making over 30 appearances in his debut Serie A season, though he did not consistently feature in the starting eleven. This limited playing time has alerted clubs across Europe who believe they can offer him a more prominent role. Scouts have reportedly been impressed by his displays for Morocco, particularly against strong opposition like Brazil and the Netherlands.
During the recent World Cup, El Aynaoui showcased his ability to dictate tempo, combining defensive work with composure in possession and athleticism. His performances have built on earlier attention from Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid following a strong showing at the Africa Cup of Nations. Intermediaries representing El Aynaoui have reportedly spoken with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth, Newcastle United, and Sunderland regarding his availability.
Everton are also tracking the midfielder, with the club’s ownership structure – the Friedkin Group also own Roma – potentially streamlining any potential negotiations. However, any transfer between the sister clubs would require careful consideration. Former Marseille sporting director Mehdi Benatia recently questioned why El Aynaoui wasn’t a regular starter for Roma, praising his combination of “quality and quantity.” The player’s representatives believe a move this summer is possible if Roma receive a suitable offer. His increased visibility on the international stage has placed him firmly on the shortlist of several Premier League clubs seeking midfield reinforcements.
