Manchester United have set their sights on Roma midfielder Manu Koné, with a potential offer of around €60 million being prepared, according to reports in Italy. The development comes after the club’s previous pursuit of Ederson failed to materialize.
Roma manager Daniele De Rossi is reportedly hoping to retain key players, but the financial incentive could prove difficult to resist. Koné has been a consistent performer for Roma, contributing to their midfield stability and build-up play. He joined the club last summer from Borussia Mönchengladbach and quickly established himself as a regular starter.
The interest from Manchester United stems from a need to bolster their midfield options ahead of next season. Erik ten Hag’s side finished eighth in the Premier League last term and will be looking to strengthen across multiple positions. Koné's profile as a dynamic, ball-winning midfielder aligns with the qualities Ten Hag seeks.
Elsewhere in Italy, Lazio have completed the signing of Doekhi from Unión Berlin on a free transfer, with a three-year contract including an option for a fourth. They are also pursuing Sergi Dominguez from Dinamo Zagreb, while Christos Mandas is set to remain the first-choice goalkeeper, following persuasive talks with manager Igor Tudor. Fiorentina have secured Victor Valdepeñas from Real Madrid for €7.5 million plus a 50% sell-on clause, signing the left-back to a contract until 2031.
Lecce are nearing an agreement to sign former Lazio and Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj as a free agent, offering him a one-year contract with an option to extend. Udinese are leading the chase for Partizan Belgrade midfielder Ugresic, and are also fielding an offer from the Premier League for Solet. Talks are ongoing between Zaniolo’s representatives and Udinese to resolve a disagreement over a wage adjustment.
Cagliari remain in pole position to sign Daniel Maldini on loan with an option to buy from Atalanta, competing with Parma for the player. They have officially signed Winks from Leicester. Adams is close to joining Venezia for €16 million plus bonuses, while Davinson Sanchez is Como’s primary defensive target.
