Manchester United have turned down approaches from several clubs interested in midfielder Mason Mount, with manager Michael Carrick determined to help the player rediscover his form at Old Trafford, according to TEAMtalk.
Mount has struggled to establish himself since joining from Chelsea in a £60 million deal last summer, with injuries limiting him to 72 appearances for the club so far. Despite these setbacks, United have no intention of allowing the 27-year-old to leave during the current transfer window.
Enquiries for Mount have been received from Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Fulham in the Premier League, as well as Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Napoli. Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have also expressed interest in the England international. However, the club has informed all interested parties that Mount is not available for transfer.
Carrick is reportedly a significant admirer of Mount, believing he possesses the quality to become a key player once fully fit. The manager values Mount’s intelligence, tactical versatility, and work rate, and the player is also well-liked within the United dressing room.
Although Mount is among the club’s higher earners, sources indicate that neither he nor United are seeking an exit. The focus remains on helping Mount return to the form he displayed at Chelsea, where he was a pivotal figure before his move to Manchester. Carrick hopes an uninterrupted run of fitness will allow Mount to showcase his abilities and justify his price tag.
This commitment to Mount suggests United see him as a long-term asset, and his potential return to form could significantly strengthen their midfield options.
