Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca is reportedly interested in signing Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, according to the Daily Mail. This comes as City look to bolster their squad following the arrivals of Elliot Anderson and Jeremy Monga, with a right-back also a priority, currently filled by the potential signing of Malo Gusto.
Chelsea are currently holding firm on a valuation of over €80 million for Gusto, and are expected to demand a similar fee for Neto. The West London club are aware of interest from City, Liverpool, and clubs in Saudi Arabia, and believe the current market for wide players will allow them to secure a significant transfer fee for the 26-year-old Portuguese international.
Chelsea have pointed to the valuations of players like Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande, both exceeding €120 million, as evidence that the market for wide players is currently inflated. While Neto may not reach such a figure, the club anticipates a substantial offer.
Neto is currently on pre-season break after participating in the 2026 World Cup with Portugal. His role under new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso remains uncertain, though he was a key figure for Maresca during the Italian’s time at Stamford Bridge. City’s pursuit of Neto is contingent on potential departures of current wingers Savinho and Omar Marmoush.
Chelsea have recently added depth to their attacking options with the signing of Geovany Quenda from Sporting. The arrival of Morgan Rogers is expected to fill the void left by Alejandro Garnacho, who has joined Aston Villa on loan. Despite not actively seeking to sell Neto, Chelsea recognize the need for player sales following the record signing of Rogers.
