Arsenal are prepared to sell forward Gabriel Jesus this summer, with AC Milan emerging as a leading contender for his signature, according to TEAMtalk. The Gunners are seeking around £20million for the Brazilian, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 for a fee of £45million but has struggled for consistent playing time due to a series of injuries. Last season, he made only 14 Premier League appearances, scoring six goals, and now finds himself behind Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz in the pecking order for a starting position. Arsenal are keen to avoid losing the player on a free transfer next summer and view this window as their final opportunity to recoup a significant fee.
Despite Arsenal’s desire to sell, Jesus has previously expressed a wish to remain in North London, stating last December that he had “unfinished business” with the club. However, he has also acknowledged the importance of regular playing time and has a known affinity for Italian football. The club have reportedly communicated to Jesus that he will not be a first-choice option, reinforcing their intention to facilitate his departure.
Several clubs have registered interest, with Juventus also considering a £20million offer and Atletico Madrid making contact, potentially as part of a deal involving Arsenal’s interest in Julian Alvarez. Turkish clubs, Fenerbahce and Besiktas, have also expressed interest, with Fenerbahce considering a loan with a substantial wage contribution. However, Arsenal are prioritizing a permanent sale to generate funds.
A return to his former club, Palmeiras, in Brazil has been speculated, but the financial implications make a move back to his homeland unlikely at this stage. As it stands, Serie A appears to be Jesus’s most probable destination, though negotiations are ongoing. The player’s preference to stay at Arsenal may be challenged by the club’s firm stance on securing a transfer fee this summer.
