Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic is attracting attention from clubs in the English Premier League, according to reports in Italy. Crystal Palace have reportedly made initial inquiries regarding the 24-year-old Serbian international, with Manchester United also expressing concrete interest.
Pavlovic joined Milan from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2022 for a fee of €18.5 million plus bonuses, and the club now values him around €40 million. Despite being considered a key player and having a strong relationship with manager Massimiliano Allegri, Milan may be open to selling if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
This season, Pavlovic has demonstrated significant improvement, becoming a more tactically astute and reliable defender. He has contributed offensively as well, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 2,948 minutes of play – making him the most utilized outfield player in the Milan squad. His consistent performance has been a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season for the Rossoneri.
While Milan currently have no intention of selling Pavlovic, the financial realities of missing out on Champions League qualification could force their hand. A sale would represent a significant profit for the club and allow them to reinvest in other areas of the squad. Pavlovic, having found a positive trajectory under Allegri, would likely prefer to remain in Milan, but his future may depend on the club’s European status.
