Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti is a target for Villarreal, according to reports in Italy. The Serie A club are keen to secure a permanent transfer for the 20-year-old to bolster their finances, with a reported asking price of €15 million. Juventus need to generate funds to balance their books and avoid capital losses, making Miretti’s sale a priority.
Negotiations with Bologna for defender Jhon Lucumi are ongoing, but remain separate from any potential deal involving Miretti. Juventus would ideally like to include Miretti in a swap deal to lower the cost of acquiring Lucumi, however Bologna are currently only considering a loan with an option or obligation to buy, and are not interested in taking on players in exchange.
Como are also reportedly monitoring Miretti, but Villarreal appear to be the frontrunners for his signature. The Spanish club have already made inquiries and are evaluating the possibility of a move, potentially aided by Miretti’s ability to fill a quota for Italian players in their Champions League squad. Como’s interest is currently hampered by their pursuit of another player, Nico Paz.
Lucumi remains a Juventus target, but a move will likely wait until July when a release clause of €28 million expires. Bologna are currently holding firm on a €25 million valuation for the Colombian defender, but Juventus are hoping to negotiate a lower fee. Lucumi is reportedly keen on a move to Turin, and is a player admired by Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti. However, with Lucumi’s contract expiring in January, Bologna are under pressure to either sell him this summer or risk losing him for free. The club are not currently engaged in renewal talks with the player.
The situation remains fluid, with both clubs maintaining a good relationship. Further discussions are expected in July, with a potential compromise on Lucumi’s valuation anticipated. Miretti’s future appears more immediate, with Juventus eager to finalize a sale quickly to address their financial concerns.
