- FC Union Berlin have confirmed the permanent signing of Stanley Nsoki from TSG Hoffenheim, following a successful loan spell with the club during the 2025/26 season. The centre-back will officially join Union on a long-term contract, with the details of the fee remaining undisclosed.
Nsoki expressed his delight at securing his future with the Bundesliga side, stating he is “very happy to become a permanent part of this special club.” He credited the support of the Union Berlin fans and the faith shown by the club’s staff for aiding his recovery from a recent injury, emphasizing his feeling of belonging within the team and his desire to contribute to future successes.
The 25-year-old initially joined Union on loan from Hoffenheim, where he had struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter. He progressed through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Hoffenheim in 2021, making 48 appearances for the club across all competitions. Despite a slow start to his loan period due to injury, Nsoki quickly integrated into the Union Berlin squad.
Union Berlin’s managing director for men's professional football, Horst Heldt, highlighted Nsoki’s adaptability and defensive capabilities as key factors in the club’s decision to make the transfer permanent. Heldt noted Nsoki’s “versatility, defensive qualities and understanding of the game” as a strong fit for Union’s playing style, expressing the club’s satisfaction with securing his services to bolster their defensive options.
During his loan spell, Nsoki featured in 14 matches across all competitions, demonstrating his value to the team despite the initial setback of an injury. The move provides Union Berlin with a settled defensive option, while offering Nsoki a platform to consistently showcase his abilities in the Bundesliga. This transfer strengthens Union’s squad depth as they continue to compete in the German top flight.
