Real Madrid are preparing to submit an offer for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, with the player reportedly keen on a move to the Spanish capital. The France international has informed Bayern of his desire to join the 15-time European Cup winners, according to L’Equipe, prompting Real Madrid to prepare a formal bid following the conclusion of the World Cup.
Olise joined Bayern from Crystal Palace two years ago for a fee of €53 million and has since established himself as a key player, scoring 22 goals and providing 27 assists across all competitions during the 2025/26 season. His performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, but Real Madrid’s pursuit has been the most consistent. Despite public denials from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez regarding the club’s interest, reports from Spain suggest a bid is imminent.
Bayern are determined to retain the 24-year-old, but have identified Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola as a potential replacement should they be forced to sell. Any potential transfer is expected to be complex and drawn out. A sale would represent a club-record departure for Bayern, surpassing the €45 million received for Robert Lewandowski, Lucas Hernandez, and Matthijs de Ligt.
Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy believes Bayern will resist any attempts to prise Olise away from the Allianz Arena. He explained that Bayern rarely sell their star players and prioritise retaining their best talent, often renewing contracts to ensure they remain at the club. Murphy suggests that even a world-record fee may not be enough to convince Bayern to part with Olise, given their ambition to compete for Champions League success and the strength of their current attacking options including Jamal Musiala, Luis Diaz, and Harry Kane. The club is expected to add further depth to their squad this summer, making a sale even less likely.
