Victor Osimhen has publicly reaffirmed his happiness at Galatasaray, despite recent transfer speculation linking him with a move to Juventus. The Nigerian striker, who has been a key player for the Turkish club this season, spoke extensively about his strong relationship with Galatasaray and the city of Istanbul.
In an interview with Fanatik, Osimhen emphasized the mutual respect and affection he feels from Galatasaray, extending to his family and inner circle. He stated, “There is a mutual respect between me and Galatasaray. An affection that is not only shown to me, but also to my family, my friends and all my entourage. Every morning I wake up and thank God, going to training with a smile on my face.” He further added his enjoyment of playing for the club, saying, “When I wear the Galatasaray shirt, I always play with my heart and soul. I am happy here. So far everything is going the right way, my family is well and so am I.”
Osimhen was previously linked with Juventus both during the January transfer window and following Galatasaray’s Champions League encounters with the Italian side. The connection was further fueled by his past relationship with Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti, with whom he won the Serie A title at Napoli. At the time, Osimhen acknowledged that playing for Juventus “would be a privilege.”
Interestingly, Nigeria national team manager Jose Peseiro recently opted not to call up Osimhen, citing the player’s potential club move as a factor. Peseiro explained that he preferred Osimhen to remain with Galatasaray, stating, “Osimhen has a situation of changing clubs, so I preferred that he stay at home. Because if you play and you are not 100% ready, it is not a positive thing.”
Despite acknowledging past interest from other clubs, Osimhen remains focused on his current situation at Galatasaray. He expressed feeling deeply loved by the club and the city, stating his contentment with his present circumstances. “I am in a club where I feel deeply loved. I love this city, this club and all the people who surround me day after day. We’ll see what happens in the future, but at the moment my only reality is happiness at Galatasaray, and I continue on my path here,” he said. Osimhen’s continued strong performances will be vital as Galatasaray push for further success in the Turkish Super Lig.
