Michel Platini has indicated a willingness to act as a consultant for Juventus, according to reports from the La Vialli e Mauro charity event. The former UEFA president, speaking at the event held at the Royal Park near Juventus’ training ground, stated he is no longer seeking a full-time directorial position but could consider a consultancy role.
Platini’s comments come following the recent appointment of Giovanni Carnevali as a Juventus director, and he suggested his experience could be a valuable asset to the club. While acknowledging Carnevali’s capabilities, Platini implied that his insight could provide significant benefit to the Bianconeri. Massimo Mauro, also present at the event and a former Juventus player alongside Platini, also offered his assistance to the club.
Platini enjoyed a hugely successful spell as a player for Juventus between 1982 and 1987, winning Serie A titles, the European Cup, and the European Cup Winners' Cup. He later served as a director and advisor at the club before his career was overshadowed by a FIFA ban related to ethics violations. His potential return, even in a consultancy capacity, would be a significant development given his historical ties and footballing acumen.
The discussion surrounding Platini’s potential involvement comes at a time of transition for Juventus, as they navigate financial challenges and seek to rebuild their squad. There is a perceived need within the club for individuals with a strong connection to Juventus’ history and values, and both Platini and Mauro fit that profile. The club is currently assessing options to strengthen its management structure and improve its overall performance.
