Paris Saint-Germain are progressing in negotiations to sign 19-year-old winger Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig, according to RMC Sports. The Ivorian international has reportedly made a move to Paris his priority and has already agreed to a potential five-year contract with the French champions.
Diomandé has emerged as a promising talent in the Bundesliga, though his appearances for Leipzig have been limited this season. He primarily plays as a right winger, known for his pace and dribbling ability, and would offer PSG additional attacking options. The potential arrival of Diomandé comes as Gonçalo Ramos is expected to depart the French capital.
Liverpool were also previously linked with a move for Diomandé, but PSG are now considered the frontrunners to secure his signature. However, a significant hurdle remains in the form of Leipzig’s valuation of the player. German press reports have suggested a asking price of around €130 million, a figure that PSG sporting director Luis Campos is unlikely to meet.
Campos demonstrated a willingness to engage in protracted negotiations during last summer’s transfer window, notably in the pursuit of Illya Zabarnyi, and a similar approach is anticipated in discussions with Leipzig. The club will likely attempt to negotiate a lower fee for Diomandé, potentially including add-ons or a structured payment plan. Securing Diomandé would bolster PSG’s attacking line and provide competition for existing players, reinforcing their squad depth for both domestic and European competitions.
