Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni on a free transfer from AC Milan, with the player penning a contract that runs until 2031. The club confirmed the deal on Monday, just hours after announcing the loan departure of Renato Marin to CD Nacional.
Longoni, an Italy Under-18 international, was available on a free transfer after his contract with Milan expired. PSG described him in an official statement as “one of the most promising goalkeepers of his generation in Italy.” He is expected to initially feature with the club’s reserve team, while also training with the first-team squad.
Longoni was a key member of the Italy side that won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2024. He continued his strong international form into the following year, playing a role in Italy’s run to the semi-finals of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup. His performances at youth level have clearly impressed PSG’s recruitment team, leading to the long-term contract offer.
The move provides PSG with a highly-rated young goalkeeper to develop within their system, adding depth to a position that currently features Mike Maignan as the established number one. For Longoni, the transfer represents an opportunity to test himself in one of Europe’s top leagues and potentially progress towards becoming a first-team regular in the future. This signing aligns with PSG’s strategy of investing in promising young talent.
