Rangers are facing increasing competition to retain midfielder Calum Adamson, with Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest among several English clubs monitoring the 18-year-old, according to TEAMtalk. Adamson recently enjoyed a successful loan spell with Alloa Athletic, where he gained valuable first-team experience and enhanced his reputation in Scottish football.
The Scotland youth international impressed with his maturity, energy, and technical ability during his time at Alloa, quickly adapting to senior football. Rangers are aware that Adamson has entered the final year of his current contract at Ibrox and are keen to secure his long-term future, with the club viewing him as a potential first-team player in the coming years. As part of their development plans, Rangers are considering another loan move for the upcoming season, with interest already expressed from St Mirren and Kilmarnock.
However, the Glasgow club’s plans are being challenged by growing interest from south of the border. Scouts from both Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have been regularly observing Adamson following his performances for Alloa, with both clubs identifying him as a player with significant long-term potential. Several Championship clubs, including Middlesbrough, Bristol City, and Portsmouth, have also conducted extensive scouting work on the midfielder, all actively seeking emerging British talent.
While no formal offers have yet been submitted, the increasing number of interested clubs is expected to put pressure on Rangers to agree to new terms with Adamson. The Scottish giants remain confident they can convince the player that his future lies at Ibrox, particularly given their commitment to his continued development through regular senior football. Nevertheless, with only one year remaining on his current deal and intensifying interest from the Premier League and EFL, Adamson’s future is becoming a key contract situation for Rangers this summer.
