RB Leipzig have emerged as potential rivals to Borussia Dortmund in the pursuit of TSG Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani, according to a report from Sport BILD. The 23-year-old Kosovan international is reportedly available for a €30 million fee due to a release clause in his current contract.
Asllani enjoyed a productive 2023-24 campaign with Hoffenheim, registering 10 goals and 7 assists across all competitions. His versatility is a key attribute, having demonstrated the ability to play multiple attacking positions, making him an attractive option for several Bundesliga clubs. Dortmund has been consistently linked with Asllani, but their pursuit is currently contingent on resolving the future of Serhou Guirassy.
RB Leipzig have already begun preliminary discussions with Asllani, as reported by Sport BILD, indicating a serious interest in securing his services. The Saxony-based club currently has a number of forwards on their roster, including Rômulo, Conrad Harder, and Samba Konaté, creating competition for places. However, the club appears keen to add further firepower to their attacking options.
Dortmund’s potential move for Asllani is complicated by the uncertainty surrounding Guirassy’s future. Should Guirassy depart, the Black and Yellows are expected to intensify their efforts to sign the Hoffenheim forward. Leipzig’s proactive approach, however, could see them leapfrog Dortmund in the race for Asllani’s signature. The addition of Asllani would provide Leipzig with another dynamic attacking threat as they look to challenge for domestic and European honours.
Asllani has represented Kosovo at the international level, becoming a regular feature in the national team. He joined Hoffenheim in 2022 and has steadily developed into a key player for the club, attracting attention from some of Germany’s biggest teams. His age and potential suggest he could be a valuable long-term asset for either Leipzig or Dortmund.
