Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has emerged as a potential target for Juventus, according to reports in Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness. This comes as Tottenham aim to reduce the size of their squad to meet Premier League regulations.
Richarlison was Tottenham’s top scorer in the Premier League last season with 11 goals, playing a crucial role in securing their survival under manager Roberto De Zerbi. Despite this, the club are reportedly open to offers for the 29-year-old, who is entering the final year of his contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While a new contract offer has been made, it remains unsigned.
Juventus are said to be interested, with the Italian club viewing Richarlison as an option if their primary target, Randal Kolo Muani, proves unattainable. Kolo Muani recently returned to Paris Saint-Germain after a loan spell with Tottenham, where he scored only one goal. The Turin side are reportedly aware of Richarlison’s willingness to join them, as revealed by TEAMtalk.
Tottenham currently have 21 non-homegrown players over the age of 21, exceeding the Premier League limit of 17. This situation necessitates player sales, with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, and Lucas Bergvall also identified as potential departures. Other players who could leave include Manor Solomon and Pape Matar Sarr. The club has already spent over £225 million this summer on Jan Paul van Hecke, Sandro Tonali, and Mateus Fernandes, signaling a change in transfer policy under the ENIC Group.
Richarlison joined Tottenham in 2022 for a reported £60 million, but his 32 goals in 133 appearances have not fully justified that price tag. A move to Juventus could offer him a fresh start and a key role in a rebuilding project, while also allowing Tottenham to address their squad size issues and potentially recoup a significant portion of their initial investment.
