Roma, buoyed by Champions League qualification, are prioritizing attacking reinforcements with several players reportedly on their shortlist, according to reports in the Italian press. Manager Daniele De Rossi has identified four forwards – Mason Greenwood, Joshua Zirkzee, Jonson Summerville, and Antonio Nusa – as potential targets, hoping to secure two of them before the start of next season.
The club is anticipating player sales to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, with midfielders Evan Ndicka and Kumbulla considered likely departures. However, De Rossi has specifically requested additions in the attacking midfield and full-back positions.
Joshua Zirkzee, currently at Manchester United, is a key focus for the Italian side. The Dutch forward has struggled for consistent playing time under Erik ten Hag, starting only one match since the managerial change, accumulating just 143 minutes in 11 appearances. This lack of opportunity has fueled his desire to leave, and Roma remains an attractive option. Manchester United reportedly value Zirkzee at around €30 million.
Another player of interest is Jonson Summerville of West Ham United. The club’s recent relegation to the Championship and resulting financial difficulties mean they are likely to sell players, with Summerville valued at approximately €40 million. Summerville’s pace and dribbling ability align with De Rossi’s tactical preferences, and he shares the same agency as Roma’s existing forward, Gianluca Scamacca.
Roma are also monitoring Mason Greenwood, currently on loan at Marseille. The French club may be forced to sell players to balance their books, and Greenwood is valued at €55-60 million. However, Manchester United retain a 40% sell-on clause, complicating any potential deal. Greenwood himself has expressed uncertainty about his future at Marseille. The club also has interest in Antonio Nusa of RB Leipzig, valued at around €40 million, but securing his signature may prove difficult.
Finally, Roma are also pursuing Dodo, a Brazilian right-back, with a potential transfer fee of €15-20 million. The player has reportedly shown interest in the move, liking Roma’s social media posts celebrating their Champions League qualification. A move for Dodo would complement Wesley, currently Roma’s left-back, creating a Brazilian full-back pairing.
