Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson is the subject of interest from several prominent European clubs, including Manchester United, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and Inter, according to Turkish transfer market insider Ekrem Konur writing for Fussballdaten.
While no official bids have been submitted at this time, Dortmund would likely require a fee in the region of €30-35 million to consider selling the Norway international. Ryerson is currently representing his country at the World Cup, with a quarter-final clash against England on the horizon.
Ryerson joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2023 from Union Berlin, quickly establishing himself as a key component of Edin Terzić’s side. He has made 31 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions, demonstrating his versatility by playing at both right-back and left-back. Prior to his move to Dortmund, the Oslo-born defender spent the majority of his career in Denmark, playing for clubs such as Rosenborg and Midtjylland.
The 28-year-old’s ability to play on either flank makes him an attractive option for clubs seeking defensive reinforcement. Manchester United, in particular, have been linked with several full-back options this transfer window as they look to improve their defensive depth. Barcelona and AC Milan are also reportedly in the market for defensive additions, while Inter could be seeking a replacement or competition for their current options.
Ryerson’s contract with Borussia Dortmund is valid until the summer of 2028, giving the German club a strong negotiating position. However, the significant interest from multiple top clubs could potentially force Dortmund to consider offers if Ryerson expresses a desire to move. A sale would allow Dortmund to reinvest funds into other areas of the squad, while a move to one of the interested clubs would provide Ryerson with the opportunity to compete at the highest level of European football.
