Bayern Munich are poised to sign Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, dealing a blow to several Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, according to TEAMtalk. The 25-year-old Morocco international has reportedly made it clear he prefers a move to the Bundesliga champions despite significant interest from England.
Saibari has emerged as a highly sought-after player following two impressive seasons with PSV, where he has consistently contributed goals and assists. Last season alone, he was directly involved in 26 goals, scoring 18 himself, while demonstrating versatility in multiple attacking positions. Bayern have identified him as a key addition to Vincent Kompany’s squad, valuing his ability to play as a number ten, central midfielder, or wide attacker.
PSV are believed to be seeking a fee of around €60 million (£52m, $70m) for Saibari, and discussions between the clubs are progressing well, with personal terms already largely agreed with the player. Bayern’s pursuit of Saibari could potentially reduce their need to sign a dedicated left winger this summer, having previously been linked with players such as Anthony Gordon, Marcus Rashford, and Rio Ngumoha.
Several other Premier League clubs have also monitored Saibari’s situation, including Aston Villa, Leeds United, Everton, and Brighton & Hove Albion. However, Saibari’s desire to join Bayern has remained unwavering, with his camp consistently communicating his preference to potential suitors. The opportunity to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs is said to be his primary motivation.
Alongside the pursuit of Saibari, Bayern are also nearing an agreement for Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown. Negotiations are at an advanced stage, with a package exceeding €60 million being discussed, and Brown has already agreed personal terms. The club is confident both deals will be completed soon.
