Armenian international Eduard Spertsyan has completed a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli from FK Krasnodar for a fee of €21.85 million (25 million US dollars), the club confirmed. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a contract with Al-Ahli that will run until 2030.
Spertsyan came through the youth ranks at Krasnodar, becoming a key player for the Russian club over the past several seasons. He captained Krasnodar during their 2025 Russian Premier League winning campaign, their first major trophy in the club’s history. He featured briefly in the Champions League with Krasnodar in the 2020-2021 season.
Last season, Spertsyan enjoyed a productive campaign, scoring 17 goals and providing 13 assists in 30 league matches. His performances earned him recognition as one of Armenia’s brightest talents, and he has become a regular for the national team, captaining them since November 2025. Born in Russia, he chose to represent Armenia internationally in 2021.
Al-Ahli have been active in the transfer market this summer, with Spertsyan joining Édouard Mendy, Enzo Millot, Valentin Atangana, and Ivan Toney at the club. The arrival of Spertsyan follows the departure of Riyad Mahrez from Al-Ahli. The Saudi Pro League continues to attract high-profile players, aiming to elevate the league’s profile on the global stage. Spertsyan’s signing adds further quality to Al-Ahli’s midfield and will be expected to contribute significantly to their ambitions.
