Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the competition to sign Francisco Trincao from Sporting CP, according to Sportsview. The 26-year-old attacker is also attracting interest from Liverpool and, significantly, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.
Spurs are actively seeking to strengthen their forward line following a disappointing 2025/26 season where they narrowly avoided relegation. A lack of creativity and numerous injuries to key players like James Maddison, Xavi Simons, and Dejan Kulusevski hampered their attacking output. The club has already invested heavily in other areas of the squad, bringing in Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali for a combined total exceeding £230 million.
Trincao, who previously had a loan spell with Wolves, enjoyed a productive campaign for Sporting, scoring 11 goals and providing 15 assists across all competitions. He is a versatile player capable of operating on either wing or in a central attacking role, a quality that would appeal to manager Roberto De Zerbi. While not necessarily a natural left-winger, he would represent an upgrade on current options.
Al-Ahli have reportedly submitted a €50 million offer for Trincao, aiming to replace Riyad Mahrez. However, Sporting are under no immediate pressure to sell, with Trincao’s contract running until 2030 and including a €60 million release clause. Tottenham will hope the player prioritises a move to the Premier League over the financial incentives offered in Saudi Arabia. Trincao is now available for negotiations after Portugal’s elimination from the World Cup, potentially accelerating any discussions.
Tottenham are also continuing dialogue with Manchester City regarding Savinho and have received indications that Rafael Leao is open to a move to North London, but the addition of Trincao would provide further depth and competition in the attacking positions.
