Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to generate significant funds through player sales, potentially up to £222 million, following a busy summer of incoming transfers, according to football.london. The club has already broken its transfer record twice with the signings of Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United for £85 million and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United for an initial £92.5 million, a deal that could rise to £100 million with bonus clauses.
This influx of talent, alongside free transfers for Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka, has prompted a shift in Tottenham’s transfer policy. Club officials have reportedly indicated a commitment to selling players for ‘better value and at the right time’, learning from previous deals involving Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon, and Yves Bissouma. The club began this new approach with the January sale of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace for £35 million.
Several players are already lined up for potential departures. Luka Vuskovic is set to join Brighton for an initial £46 million, plus £4 million in add-ons, while Radu Dragusin will move to Fiorentina on loan with a €25 million (£21 million) obligation to buy. Alfie Devine has also completed a move to Preston North End after triggering a £6 million purchase clause.
Djed Spence, Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, and Lucas Bergvall are identified as further players who could contribute to the club’s transfer fund. Everton have reportedly added Spence to their shortlist of right-back targets, though Tottenham are not actively seeking to sell the England international but would consider suitable offers, with a price tag of around £25 million suggested. Romero, valued at £50 million, is hoping for a move to either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid, while Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are both interested in Bergvall, also valued at £50 million. Goalkeeper Vicario is available for around £20 million after losing his place as first choice to Antonin Kinsky.
These sales would allow Tottenham to pursue further attacking reinforcements, with Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi among their targets, alongside wingers Rafael Leao, Cody Gakpo, Savinho, and Antonio Nusa. Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the club is also planning to announce another significant signing following the arrivals of Fernandes and Tonali.
