Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar has refuted speculation linking him with a move to Juventus, stating his sole focus remains with the Giallorossi. The 25-year-old addressed reports of a bid exceeding €40 million from the Turin club, claiming he was not contacted regarding any potential transfer.
Svilar joined Roma in 2023 and quickly established himself as a key player, earning Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year honors for two consecutive seasons. His performances were instrumental in securing Champions League qualification for the club under manager Daniele De Rossi, following a similar achievement under Claudio Ranieri. A notable, yet frustrating, aspect of his recent career has been his inability to feature for the Belgian national team due to a prior appearance in a friendly match for Serbia.
“Frankly, I don’t know anything about this story,” Svilar said, referring to the Juventus interest. “This summer I have heard and read very little, at least as far as I’m concerned. I can’t tell you anything because I wasn’t contacted. For me today there is only Roma and I am concentrated on giving my best for this shirt, this club and these fans.”
Roma are currently in pre-season preparations, and Svilar emphasized the team’s dedication to achieving success in the upcoming season, including their return to the Champions League. He acknowledged the physical demands of balancing Serie A and European competition, stating the team needs another month of work to reach peak condition. The goalkeeper also briefly touched upon the situation surrounding captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, stating he had spoken with the midfielder but deferred questions about his future to the club.
