Khéphren Thuram has returned to Juventus training three days ahead of schedule, arriving at the Continassa training center on Friday, August 10th, despite being scheduled to rejoin the squad on Monday, July 13th. The early return comes as the Juventus team prepares for pre-season under new manager Luciano Spalletti.
According to reports, Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali does not consider Thuram to be an indispensable member of the squad, and the club is open to offers for the midfielder. Thuram himself appears eager to begin preparations for the upcoming season after a campaign in which he made 45 appearances across Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League, registering four goals and five assists.
Last season proved inconsistent for the 25-year-old, and he reportedly struggled with minor physical issues towards the end of the campaign, often limited to substitute appearances. The extended break is intended to allow him to fully recover before the start of pre-season training and a planned international tour with the team.
Despite his eagerness to return to training, Thuram’s long-term future at Juventus remains uncertain. He is currently contracted to the club until June 30, 2029, but Carnevali has reportedly set a price tag of €50 million for any potential suitors. Initial interest has come from Premier League clubs Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, and Sunderland, though the fee has so far proven a deterrent. Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have also expressed interest, but Thuram has not yet indicated a preference for either destination. Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain has also been linked, with Thuram’s name reportedly surfacing in discussions regarding a potential deal for Randal Kolo Muani to join Juventus. Thuram will continue to train with the squad while awaiting clarity on his future.
