Torino have announced the signing of Gaetano Oristanio from Venezia on a loan deal with a €5 million option to make the transfer permanent, the club confirmed via an official statement. The 21-year-old midfielder joins the Granata after a period of speculation linking him with a move to several Serie A clubs.
Oristanio began his youth career with Inter, winning youth championships at the Under-16 and Under-17 levels before embarking on a series of loan spells to gain first-team experience. He first moved to Volendam in the Dutch second tier in 2021, immediately helping the club achieve promotion to the Eredivisie. Across two seasons with Volendam, Oristanio made 62 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
Returning to Italy in 2023, Oristanio spent time on loan at Cagliari, making his Serie A debut against Torino in August. He featured 27 times for the Rossoblù, scoring twice and registering one assist. Following his spell at Cagliari, he moved to Venezia on a permanent transfer from Inter before joining Parma on loan for the latter half of last season, where he made 21 appearances across all competitions.
Torino manager Ignazio Abate will be hoping Oristanio adds creativity and attacking impetus to his squad, particularly following the recent contract renewal of captain Duvan Zapata. The move provides further depth in the offensive positions for the Turin-based club. Oristanio has also represented Italy at various youth levels, including the Under-17, Under-18, Under-20, and Under-21 teams. The loan deal with an option to buy suggests Torino are keen to assess Oristanio’s impact before committing to a permanent transfer, potentially strengthening their midfield options for the long term.
