Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as potential rivals to Arsenal in the pursuit of Morgan Rogers, according to reports from Spurs insider Himothy Reports, as cited by Last Word On Spurs. The development adds a new dimension to the transfer saga surrounding the Aston Villa playmaker, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Rogers, currently on international duty with England, is widely considered a key player for Villa and has attracted attention from several top Premier League clubs. Arsenal have reportedly identified the 23-year-old as their primary target for the left wing position, with the ability to also feature centrally. The Gunners are prepared to launch a bid in the region of £80-90 million, potentially rising to £100 million.
Aston Villa are believed to be seeking a fee of £130 million for Rogers, though that figure may be negotiable given the player’s desire to move. The emergence of Tottenham as a suitor complicates matters for Arsenal, potentially driving up the transfer fee. Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly a keen admirer of Rogers, and the club may see a move for the Villa attacker as a way to avenge last summer’s transfer of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal.
Spurs are also expected to be active in the transfer market, with Djed Spence and Lucas Bergvall likely to depart. De Zerbi is also known to be a fan of Conor Gallagher, though the reports suggest Mathys Tel and Archie Gray are not priorities for the new manager. Arsenal, however, remain in a strong position to secure Rogers as part of a potential quadruple deal worth up to £366 million, also targeting Bruno Guimaraes. The Gunners are reportedly progressing with deals and are confident of landing both players if they pursue the deals aggressively.
Arsenal are also nearing the completion of a £17 million sale of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas, which will free up funds and squad space for further additions. The situation remains fluid, but Arsenal currently appear best-placed to sign Rogers, though Tottenham’s interest introduces a significant new challenge in the pursuit of the talented midfielder.
