Tottenham Hotspur have turned down three offers for young forward Will Lankshear, according to a report from football.london. The approaches came from Sporting CP, Wolves, and Southampton, all submitting bids within the eight-figure range, either as outright transfers or loans with options to buy.
Spurs have been active in the transfer market, recently finalizing the sale of Luka Vuskovic and loaning out Radu Dragusin, alongside the permanent departures of Alfie Devine and Alejo Veliz. However, the club is currently unwilling to let Lankshear leave despite the interest from multiple clubs. A ‘sizeable fee’ would be required to convince Tottenham to sell the 21-year-old.
Lankshear is currently expected to return for pre-season training with Tottenham and could potentially be integrated into the first-team squad under new manager Roberto De Zerbi. The club will assess his progress during pre-season before making a final decision on his role in the upcoming campaign.
The forward impressed during a loan spell with Oxford United last season, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists in the Championship. It was his first full season of senior football, and he demonstrated a promising goalscoring record despite playing for a team that struggled throughout the season. Supporters have voiced their desire to see Lankshear given an opportunity in the Tottenham first team, citing his potential as a future Harry Kane-style striker.
Tottenham’s stance on Lankshear could be influenced by the future of Richarlison, who has been linked with a possible departure this summer. Should Richarlison leave, Lankshear’s role within the squad could become more prominent. The club’s rejection of the three offers indicates they currently view Lankshear as a valuable asset with significant potential.
