Toulouse are on the verge of signing Christ Tapé from Danish Superliga side Horsens for a reported fee of €2.5 million. The Ligue 1 club have reached an agreement with Horsens for the 20-year-old Ivorian defender, according to L’Équipe. Tapé is expected to undergo a medical this week before finalising a four-year contract with Toulouse.
Tapé, a left-footed player, is capable of playing both as a centre-back and a left-back, offering tactical flexibility to manager Carles Martinez Novell. He arrived in Europe during the summer of 2024 and has attracted interest from several French clubs since then. Lens were reportedly considering a move for the player last summer, while Reims also scouted him more recently.
Horsens gained promotion to the Danish top flight this year, providing a platform for Tapé to showcase his abilities. The defender has quickly established himself as a key player for the club, attracting the attention of teams in larger European leagues. Toulouse have been actively seeking a central defender during the transfer window and have identified Tapé as a suitable addition to their squad.
The transfer represents a significant step up in Tapé’s career, moving him to a competitive Ligue 1 side. Toulouse will be hoping he can solidify their defence and contribute to their league performance. This acquisition demonstrates Toulouse’s commitment to investing in young talent and building a strong squad for the future.
