Udinese have completed the permanent signing of Mergim Vojvoda from Como, the club announced on their official website. The right-sided player has signed a contract with the Friulian club that runs until June 30, 2028, with an option for a further season.
Vojvoda, born in Kosovo in 1995, began his professional career in the Netherlands and Belgium before arriving in Serie A with Torino in 2020. He amassed 135 appearances and scored three goals during his time with the Turin side. He moved to Como in January 2025, playing a key role in their historic qualification for the Champions League this past season, contributing two goals in 30 matches and reaching the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
Udinese highlighted Vojvoda’s versatility, noting his ability to play in both a back four and as a wing-back, praising his technical ability and attacking inclination. The club statement described him as an “ideal interpreter” for both roles. He is a regular starter for the Kosovo national team, where he also captains the side and holds the record for most appearances with 74 caps and three goals. He also has 12 appearances for the Albania Under-21 team.
The transfer represents a strengthening of Udinese’s options on the right side of defence and midfield. Como will be looking to reinvest the funds from the sale as they prepare for their Champions League campaign, while Vojvoda will be hoping to continue his consistent form in a new environment. This move provides Udinese with an experienced Serie A player capable of contributing both defensively and in attack.
