Arsenal midfielder Fábio Vieira has been offered to Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart as a potential permanent transfer away from the Emirates Stadium, according to Sport Bild. This development comes as negotiations between Arsenal and Hamburger SV, where Vieira spent the 2025/26 season on loan, reach an impasse over a transfer fee.
Hamburger SV had an option to make Vieira’s loan move permanent for a fee of €20 million, but the club’s financial limitations mean they are only able to realistically offer around €11 million. Arsenal are currently unwilling to reduce their asking price, and are instead hoping to attract interest from other clubs who may be prepared to meet their valuation.
Vieira enjoyed a productive loan spell with HSV, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. The 24-year-old joined Arsenal from Porto in 2022 for a reported fee of £34.2 million, but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under manager Mikel Arteta, making only 22 Premier League appearances for the club.
Leverkusen and Stuttgart are both preparing for Champions League football next season, having finished in the top four of the Bundesliga. While it remains unclear whether either club will pursue a deal for Vieira, his representatives are actively exploring all available options as the transfer window progresses. A move to either German side would offer Vieira the opportunity for more consistent first-team football, something he has been unable to secure in North London.
Should Arsenal successfully secure a higher fee than HSV’s offer, it would represent a significant return on investment for a player who has not yet fully delivered on his potential at the Emirates. The Gunners are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, and offloading Vieira could free up funds for other potential signings.
