Dusan Vlahovic’s future remains uncertain, but a return to Juventus is increasingly possible, according to reports emerging from Turin. While teammate Filip Kostic has already cleared out his locker at the Juventus training ground, Vlahovic’s remains untouched since the end of the Serie A season, a period marked by a brace against Torino.
Initial talks with Damien Comolli reportedly stalled, leading to a period of distance between Vlahovic and the club, even after the arrival of Giovanni Carnevali as a director. However, the situation has shifted in recent weeks, with Vlahovic reportedly cooling his interest in a move to Besiktas and signaling a renewed willingness to rejoin Juventus. The club, while maintaining a degree of caution, is seriously considering the prospect.
Vlahovic spent a season and a half at Juventus after joining from Fiorentina in January 2022, scoring 23 goals in 42 Serie A appearances. He became a key player for the Old Lady, but his future became clouded following the club’s financial difficulties and subsequent points deduction.
Juventus’ interest is tempered by the ongoing pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani, with the club awaiting a resolution to that transfer saga. However, the potential to re-sign a player of Vlahovic’s caliber without a transfer fee is proving attractive, particularly in a quiet transfer market. Carnevali has acknowledged discussions with Vlahovic, stating they will evaluate any opportunities, but indicated a change in approach from the club, noting Vlahovic’s increased flexibility on financial terms and commissions.
Negotiations are expected to center around the terms of a potential contract termination, with Juventus adopting a firm stance. A meeting between the club and Vlahovic’s representatives, including his father Milos, is anticipated to be decisive. Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is reportedly keen to have two strikers in his squad, further bolstering the case for Vlahovic’s return. The club is willing to overlook past issues if Vlahovic demonstrates a genuine commitment to the project.
