Dusan Vlahovic is attempting to engineer a return to Juventus, initiating direct contact with the club after a strained departure earlier this summer. According to reports in Italy, the Serbian forward reached out to Juventus directly, bypassing his agent, to propose a meeting to discuss a potential deal under the club’s financial terms.
Relations between Vlahovic and Juventus deteriorated in early June, with differing visions for the player’s future. During renewal talks, Vlahovic reportedly questioned why he couldn’t earn a similar salary to Dušan Vlahović, a point raised with then-director Damien Comolli. Comolli was also a proponent of Vlahovic’s sale last year. Initially, the arrival of Giovanni Carnevali as CEO did not alter the situation, with Carnevali stating just two weeks ago that Vlahovic was not under consideration.
However, Carnevali has since softened his stance, stating that “our doors are open” to the player. Vlahovic has reportedly rejected a lucrative offer from Besiktas and has not found suitable alternatives that meet his economic demands, leading him to pursue a reconciliation with Juventus. He has also been in contact with members of the Juventus squad, attempting to rebuild relationships.
The dossier is now being handled by Carnevali and sporting director Massara, both of whom are reportedly willing to re-engage in negotiations. Both executives recognize Vlahovic’s suitability for coach Luciano Spalletti’s system, and Spalletti is said to be keen on working with the forward again, provided any agreement doesn’t disrupt the team’s wage structure. Vlahovic is currently training intensely with a personal trainer, aiming to be fit for the start of pre-season on July 13th.
He is reportedly willing to compromise on his salary demands—previously seeking €8 million, while the club is prepared to offer closer to €6 million—and the commission for his father, Milos. Juventus are also simultaneously pursuing other targets, including Randal Kolo Muani, but Carnevali acknowledged that the asking price remains a significant obstacle. The club also met with the agent of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, indicating a potential interest in strengthening their goalkeeping options. A return for Vlahovic could provide a familiar attacking option for Spalletti as he rebuilds the Juventus attack.
