Auxerre have confirmed the full composition of Will Still’s coaching staff ahead of the 2026-2027 season, with four new appointments joining the Belgian manager at the Ligue 1 club. The club announced the additions on Thursday afternoon, bolstering Still’s team with a mix of experienced personnel and familiar faces.
Nicolas Still, the brother of the head coach, will continue in his role as assistant manager, having previously worked alongside Will at Reims and Lens. Barthélemy Delecroix also joins the Burgundy-based club as head of performance, a position he previously held at Reims, and before that, with Lille between 2014 and 2018. Delecroix’s responsibilities will mirror those he had under Still at Reims, focusing on player conditioning and performance optimization.
Clément Lemaitre, a video analyst who has worked with Still at Reims, Lens, and Southampton, will also be joining the staff. The final addition is Simon Pouplin, who will serve as the club’s goalkeeping coach. Pouplin brings experience from his recent role as the head coach of the OL Lyonnes women’s team, where he worked during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons.
Auxerre have also integrated three former players into the coaching setup: Djibril Cissé will be an assistant coach focusing on attacking players, Jean-Alain Boumsong will coach the defenders, and Cyril Jeunechamp will be responsible for the development of youth players. Cissé, Boumsong, and Jeunechamp all played together for Auxerre during the 2000-2001 season, adding a layer of club history to the new coaching team. Pouplin, as a player, featured for clubs including Rennes, Sochaux, and Freiburg during his career. The appointments signal a clear attempt to blend Still’s preferred methods with local knowledge and a strong emphasis on youth development.
The arrival of these coaches is expected to provide a stable and experienced support structure for Still as he embarks on his new role at Auxerre, aiming to improve the club’s performance in the upcoming Ligue 1 campaign.
