FC Lorient have announced the appointment of Alexandre Dujeux as their new manager, succeeding Olivier Pantaloni, the club confirmed on Tuesday evening.
Dujeux has signed a contract with the Breton club until 2028, with an option for a third year. He joins Lorient after a successful spell with Angers, where he secured their Ligue 1 status for the past two seasons. The move offers Dujeux increased resources compared to his time at Angers, according to reports.
Loïc Féry, the president of FC Lorient, praised Dujeux’s ability to develop players and build a strong team ethos. “Alexandre has shown that he knows how to reveal potential, grow a group and aim for performance based on strong values of work, demand and solidarity,” Féry stated. “This approach fully corresponds to the identity of FC Lorient.” Dujeux left his position at Angers prematurely to take up the opportunity at Lorient.
Dujeux previously served as an assistant coach to Pantaloni at Ajaccio, suggesting a degree of familiarity with the Lorient setup. His recent success at Angers, consistently defying expectations with limited resources, made him a sought-after managerial prospect. The appointment is seen as a positive step for Lorient, who will hope Dujeux can build on their existing squad and push for a higher league finish. This managerial change comes at a relatively quiet time in the transfer window, but Dujeux will likely have a say in any future player acquisitions.
This appointment is expected to bring stability and a clear tactical identity to Lorient, potentially allowing them to challenge for European qualification in the coming seasons.
