Arsenal have reportedly submitted a €40 million bid for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, potentially thwarting interest from Liverpool, according to CaughtOffside. The 21-year-old Norwegian international has emerged as a target for both Premier League clubs as they seek to strengthen their attacking options.
Liverpool have already added Victor Munoz from Osasuna for €40 million to bolster their wide areas, following the departure of Mohamed Salah. The club is seeking further reinforcement, with Nusa identified as a potential replacement for the Egyptian forward, capable of playing on either flank. Nusa impressed Liverpool scouts with his performances for both RB Leipzig and the Norway national team, helping his country reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
However, Arsenal are now attempting to move ahead in the race for Nusa, with sporting director Andrea Berta viewing him as a potential replacement for Leandro Trossard, who recently joined Besiktas for £17 million. The Gunners are also considering moves for Morgan Rogers and Christos Tzolis, but Nusa remains a key target. Arsenal may also be open to offers for Gabriel Martinelli to help finance a move for Rogers.
RB Leipzig are reportedly reluctant to sell Nusa, and are believed to value him at €60 million (£51m). Arsenal will likely need to increase their initial offer to convince the Bundesliga club to part with the player. Liverpool have also seen their initial target, Yan Diomande, favour a move to Paris Saint-Germain, and are now pursuing PSG’s Bradley Barcola as an alternative.
The competition between Arsenal and Liverpool for Nusa highlights the demand for quality wingers in the current transfer market. Securing Nusa would provide either club with a dynamic and versatile attacking option, capable of contributing goals and assists.
