Arsenal’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez has received a potential boost as Atletico Madrid have identified Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as a possible replacement, according to reports in Spain. Atletico are reportedly reluctant to sell Alvarez, particularly to Barcelona who have been linked with a €100 million move, but Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in the Argentinian forward.
Diario AS reports that Atletico have prepared a €75 million bid for Osimhen should Alvarez depart the Metropolitano Stadium this summer. Osimhen, a Nigeria international, currently plays for Galatasaray, having joined the Turkish side in February 2024 after a spell with Napoli. He has quickly established himself as a key player, contributing significantly to their attack.
This development comes amidst other transfer activity across Europe. Real Madrid are nearing the signing of Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, with the Spanish giants set to activate his €20 million release clause after the player agreed to personal terms. The move sees Madrid leapfrog Liverpool in the race for the Dutch right-back.
Manchester United are also monitoring Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall as a potential reinforcement at left-back. While Newcastle aren’t actively seeking to sell Hall, who joined from Chelsea in 2023, they may consider offers to raise funds for a squad rebuild under Eddie Howe. Hall is valued at in excess of €58 million. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford’s future remains uncertain, with Manchester United refusing to allow him to join a Premier League rival, despite his desire to return to Barcelona, who are unlikely to make his loan permanent.
Other reported moves include Bayern Munich agreeing personal terms with PSV’s Ismael Saibari, Juventus targeting Koke, Justin Kluivert and Randal Kolo Muani, and Fabio Vieira expressing his desire to make his loan move to HSV permanent. Everton are also battling to retain forward Iliman Ndiaye, who has rejected contract renewal offers.
